Ordinary centrifugal pumps are driven by a coupling that connects the impeller shaft of the pump to the electric shaft, so that the impeller and the motor rotate together and work, while the shielded pump is a seal-free pump, the pump and the drive motor are sealed in a pressure vessel filled with pumping medium, this pressure vessel has only static seals, and a wire set to provide a rotating magnetic field and drive the rotor. This structure eliminates the traditional centrifugal pump with a rotary shaft sealing device, so it can be leak-free.
It actually isolates the rotor and stator inside the motor, and the motor rotor and impeller are made on a common shaft, and the rotor rotates together with the impeller. Outside the rotor and then make a shielding sleeve sealed, so that the media and rotor contact, is sealed in the shielding sleeve inside. Motor stator winding in the outer circumference of the shield sleeve, directly using the principle of the motor to drive the impeller (shielded pump this motor design is a shielded special motor). In simple terms, the shielded pump effect is the same as sealing the pump and motor in the same sealed housing.
